Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues Prediction
In the last two seasons, the Jets have had the Blues number in a big way. They are the victors of five straight contests and seven of the last eight, for some reason, they just know how to stick it to St. Louis. With the way Winnipeg has played this season and them now pretty much being the healthiest they have been all year, it is hard for me to fade them, so I am not going to, my eyes are on the total.
St. Louis is desperate to get back on track again here, with the season entering the final third after the All-Star break and the squad in a tough spot. They have plenty of veteran talent, and the young stars of the squad are performing, but they are still falling short collectively as a unit. The offensive production has increased, and they are scoring again, but the defensive woes have not ceased, and they need to find a way to start staining points together fast. They are a middle-of-the-pack team right now in the league's toughest division. While they are just 8 points out of a wild card spot, the chances of that fade every game they go out there not securing points while the rest of the division does.
Believing they come out with everything they have this evening, hoping to go into the break on the right note and set up some momentum for a push post-All-Star break is a believable narrative and one I can get behind, but I need to see it to believe it right now. They played a great game against Colorado the other day, but the effort came too late, if they come out strong like that tonight, I believe Winnipeg matches that intensity, and we see goals in this one regardless of who comes out on top.
