Golden Knights vs. Sharks Prediction

The San Jose Sharks vs. the Las Vegas Golden Knights will meet up tonight from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a Western Conference Affair. It has been about a month since I dropped a free NHL play, but our free puck plays this season are 19-8-1 overall, so I am feeling good about this one tonight.

San Jose has had a tough season to this stage in the year, playing to the tune of a 17-27-1 record. The Sharks have no chance for the postseason, and their goal the rest of the way will be to play spoiler. San Jose did that the last time that these two teams played, going into Vegas and pulling off an upset in a game that they won 5-2 over the Golden Knights. One bright spot for the Sharks this season has been 26-year-old Timo Meier. Meier leads the Sharks in goals scored with 31 on the season. He is one of the guys that San Jose will look to build around for the future.

Vegas, meanwhile, enters play tonight with a record of 32-18-4. After a disappointing season a year ago, the Golden Knights and Jack Eichel have bounced back nicely this year. The Knights currently lead the Pacific Division with 68 points to this stage in the season. It is tight in the division, however as the top four teams are separated by two points making every game important moving forward. The Knights will look to extend their win streak to four games tonight. 

I am going to back the Golden Knights on the -1 line tonight. We are not going to get too cute here and overcomplicate things. The Knights are in great rhythm at the moment, and I think that they will be too much offensively for the Sharks to keep pace with. Vegas will have revenge on their minds after what happened the last time that these teams played in Vegas, and I do not believe that they will be caught off guard again. Let’s cash in on the ice tonight!
