St. Louis Blues vs. New Jersey Devils Prediction: Will Goals Flow in this Thursday Night Showdown?

St. Louis has been struggling quite a bit this season after stringing together a handful of the franchise's best seasons in the last few years. At this point, they are desperately looking to get back on track and although they have a big hill to climb and are nowhere near the playoff conversation right now, they have the tools necessary to do so if some things can go their way and they have looked like a very different hockey team the last two games out.

St. Louis Blues vs. New Jersey Devils Prediction

Since trading lifelong Blue Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers last week and the return of Blues Captain Ryan O'Reilly from injury after missing six weeks, the Blues seem to have a fire lit underneath them. The sample size is small but they have scored six goals in each of their last two games and although they have a large hill to climb as I said, you have to start somewhere and without question need to keep the momentum going.

They beat New Jersey 5-2 back in January and will be looking to do it again tonight and while I will be on them to do so. My favorite play here has to be the total. St. Louis 32-19-2 (34-19 buying the hook) and 11-1 for the over across their last eleven games. Both teams are north of a 3.00 GPG average offensively with a lot of firepower and are more than capable of scoring.

Jack Hughes and Tory Krug are absent tonight but there is still plenty of talent and motivation on both sides tonight. New Jersey wants revenge and St. Louis wants to stay alive. No matter which way this goes, I find it hard to believe it is not another high-scoring affair.
