The Calgary Flames will travel to Arizona tonight to take on the Coyotes. Is there value on the home dogs? Handicapper WeBeatTheSpeead is here to break down his prediction, pick, and odds ahead of tonight's Coyotes vs. Flames game.
ANALYSIS

Coyotes vs. Flames Prediction: Is There Value on the Home Dogs Tonight?

The Arizona Coyotes are set to host the Calgary Flames tonight in Glendale, Arizona. The Coyotes are coming off a four-game winning streak at home and will look to continue their good form against the Flames. The Flames, on the other hand, have lost five of their previous seven games and are struggling on the road with an 11-18 record.

Despite the current trends, the books think Calgary will come away with a dominant win, as the Flames are -225 favorites on the moneyline. The Flames are on the front end of a back-to-back as they travel to Vegas tomorrow to take on the Knights. Can Calgary come away with a two-goal win? Or will the Coyotes continue to provide sneaky value at home?

Coyotes vs. Flames Prediction

The Coyotes have been impressive at home this season, with a 13-8-2 record, in contrast to their 7-20-7 record on the road. Their home form has been one of the most significant home/road splits in the NHL, and they will be looking to build on it against the Flames. In their last four home games, the Coyotes have beaten some of the best teams in the league, including the Lightning, Wild, and Blues, which is an indication of their potential.

Although the Flames could win the game decisively, the starting goaltender for the game will likely be Daniel Vladar, with Jacob Markstrom likely being held back for their back-to-back game against the Knights. Vladar's form is a concern for the Flames, given his recent performance against the Red Wings, where he allowed five goals on 24 shots. The Coyotes will aim to take advantage of this situation and put shots up on the backup.

The Flames have beaten the Coyotes in 17 of their previous 22 overall meetings, with a six-game winning streak against the Coyotes. However, the Coyotes' recent home form and the Flames' poor record on the road do not bode well for their chances of continuing their winning streak. The Flames have been a dominant team for the last few years, but they are now on the brink of missing the playoffs. If the Coyotes were to break the streak, tonight would be the spot. Also, only one of the previous six has been in Arizona.

The Coyotes' current form is impressive, with a nine-game point streak and five wins in their last seven games. They have also lost only six games by more than two goals at home this season, indicating that they keep games close even when they don't win on their own ice. Although their season-long record may not be the best, their recent form is a positive sign for their future, and Clayton Keller continues to make an impact.

The Flames' struggles on the road and their current goaltending situation will likely make it difficult for them to get a win on the puck line tonight. In 29 road games this season, the Flames have won by more than one goal in just five. Despite their recent dominance against the Coyotes, the Flames are not in the best form, and the Coyotes will aim to take advantage of this and secure another home victory. The records indicate this won't be a close game, but a closer look suggests the Coyotes may even win this game outright, but we need overtime or a close game at the end of regulation.
