While this play is a little on the square side tonight, I don't really mind it, as these are strong matchups for teams that have looked excellent lately. I'll bite on the chance to back them both to take home wins tonight at plus money.

NHL Parlay for Friday

Leg one: Toronto Maple Leafs ML

Filip Gustavsson has been much better than Marc-André Fleury lately, and he will get the nod between the pipes tonight. With the way that Toronto has been playing, it is hard to fade them right now. Ilya Samsonov will be in the net for the Leafs, and he is having what feels like an under-the-radar phenomenal season. Samsonov is 20-7-2 with a 2.4 GAA, a .915 save percentage, and three shutouts. Gustavsson is putting up similarly strong numbers on a smaller sample size, but I give the upper hand to Toronto after what I have seen the last week or so.

Since the acquisition of Blues center Ryan O'Reilly, this already potent offensive squad now looks lethal and more complete on both ends of the ice. The top six forwards are electric, and I'd argue that the fourth line could be better than the third, which says a lot about the depth. Toronto has scored 19 across their last four games and have taken four of the last five over the Wild; I like this spot on home ice.

Leg two: Carolina Hurricanes ML

The second leg here takes less explanation in my eyes. Ottawa is not a team to overlook by any means. They have talent, they can score, and they really have not had that bad of a season, but Carolina is just that good and a very hard team to beat at PNC Arena. They are 20-6 on home ice this season and riding a four-game win streak into this one.

With Anderson in the net, I like Carolina to play their game and control how this one goes. If it turns into a shootout, they have the weapons. Still, I expect a defensively sound performance in which Carolina gets some vengeance for the 4-3 loss Ottawa handed them in Canada earlier this month.
