Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction: Will Goals Flow in Columbus?

Well, we got a little something going cashing that over early in the Penguins versus Lightning game early in the third period last night, and I am looking to roll that momentum into another total I am digging tonight.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction

The Seattle Kraken is on the second leg of a back-to-back tonight as they are in Columbus, Ohio, to battle with the Blue Jackets. I expect the pace of play to be fast; when you combine that factor with poor defensive play and below-average play between the pipes, the recipe for goals is underway.

Seattle is the more talented team here and should continue scoring like they have this season; they currently rank sixth best in the league at 3.49 GPG. Columbus should be able to contribute and put up their own effort as the rested home dog tonight.

Both net minders tonight are sporting sub .900 save percentages and are sporting losing records with GAA's north of three; Elvis Merzlikins is actually even higher at an abysmal 4.1 GAA. Not all of that can be blamed on him, and the Columbus defense has been really bad the last few seasons and continues to do him no favors. They allow the third most shots on goal per game in the league with an average of 35.1, and that correlates well with the 3.64 GAA the team has, the third worst in the league.

Seattle is middle of the pack but still sports a GAA north of three. Seattle ranks fourth highest in the league for first-period overs at 37-24 and has hit in seven of their last ten games.
