St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction
These are two of the worst defensive teams in the entire league who are both in the tank for the draft boat for the most part. Both squads still have solid talent and will stay competitive for themselves, their jobs, and the fans, but their seasons are over, and that is something they are both well aware of. With that said, they are still conference rivals who have a rich history over the last ten years and one that St. Louis has dominated.
They have won six straight over the Sharks, including last week's 6-3 slugfest victory in San Jose, California. With St. Louis on home ice tonight, I like them to play hard for the fans and contribute plenty in a game that I believe will be another high-scoring affair. Three of the last five meetings between these squads have seen eight or more goals, and this season they are two of the best over teams in the NHL.
St. Louis is 39-24 for the over this season, with San Jose countering at 38-25. Both squads are averaging well above a 3.5 GAA. St. Louis ranks fifth worst in the league with a 3.68 GAA, and San Jose counters at 3.72 GAA; the Blues have the better netminder by a mile, but the defense has killed him this season. Both goalies are sporting above a 3.0 GAA.
