Ducks vs. Canucks Prediction
Well I am back from vacation, and ready to get back into the article plays here tonight. We have a relatively strong slate for a Sunday, and I am happy about that as we actually have options to choose from rather than just looking for action on the sometimes lone Sunday night game. Today I want to attack the late game on the slate with two of the worst defensive teams in the NHL meeting as the Vancouver Canucks head down to California to take on the Anaheim Ducks.
These two teams have been over machines this season, and for good reason; they both play with a lot of paces and have talented offensive pieces. However, their play on the back end tends to be quite poor, and although both sides have a goalie who decides to stand on their head from time to time, it does not happen often and is usually still not enough. Bad defenses tend to elevate the play of the opposing offenses, and tonight, both sides are set up that way, not just one. Although every now and then, that matchup can generate a snooze fest, with these two squads tonight, I don't expect that at all.
Three of the last five meetings between these squads have gone over, with the two most recent totals flying over at 8-5 and 7-4. Anaheim is averaging a league-worst 3.97 GAA, with Vancouver not far behind with a 3.69 GAA; both are among the best teams in the league for early scoring and 1p o1.5s. Vancouver is 43-25 for the over this season, with Anaheim countering at 37-32.
