F1 Gulf Air Bahrain GP Odds, Best Bets: Should You Back Max Verstappen?
F1 makes its triumphant return after a 15-week break beginning with the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2023. Lewis Hamilton, a British driver, and legend in the sport, will be seeking to add another victory to his previous five at this location, which is the most of any driver.
This will be the 19th time the Bahrain International Circuit has been chosen as a venue on the Formula One calendar. Expect plenty of overtaking and action this weekend as drivers and their teams attempt to get the 2023 season off to a speedy start on this 15-corner, three-long straightaway course.

Unlike most other sites, this circuit in Sakhir in Bahrain will likely see cars traveling at peak speed for the majority of the lap. Overtaking is frequent at this track because there are three DRS zones scattered throughout, especially on the start/finish straight, where drivers frequently dive inside at corner one after passing through the speed trap.
Anticipate mistakes, especially at circuit 10, when drivers may find it challenging to choose the ideal line into the steep, tight left-hander.

It may come as no surprise that Max Verstappen, a recent two-time world champion, has been tabbed as the favorite to win the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2023. The bookmakers certainly expect the Dutch driver to continue his incredible form from the tail part of last season, despite the fact that a technical issue with his Red Bull vehicle prevented him from finishing the race last year.
Oddsmakers are also high on him for the season, making him a -175 favorite to run away with the F1 Drivers Championship again in 2023. His Red Bull team, as expected as well, is projected to run away with the F1 Constructors Championship, currently listed as a -170 favorite, before the season even gets underway.

The opening race of the season used to be a little bit of a lottery when turning everything up to 10 for the first round, even after comprehensive testing, would invariably reveal previously unanticipated reliability problems. There is also the race-rust factor, which frequently results in the final classification at the conclusion of an incident-filled Grand Prix being reduced to only a small number of drivers.
It has become less of an issue in recent times, however. The amount of mechanical retirements has drastically decreased. The season-opening race now takes place on the Bahrain circuit, which is more forgiving than the Albert Park track, which was previously more restrictive.
Nonetheless, Red Bull's 2022 season got off to a terrible start, one they undoubtedly won't repeat here. While I'm hopeful Ferrari and Mercedes are much improved to make this season interesting, I think Verstappen makes a statement here.
