NASCAR Cup Series at Charlotte Coca-Cola 600 Prediction: Will Bubba Wallace Finish Strong?
The Cup Series guys take aim at Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600. This is one of the most grueling races on the schedule, being 100 miles longer than the "Crown Jewel" races sprinkled throughout the schedule. I'm not complaining as this is exactly what we need on a Sunday night with a Monday holiday.
We're filling up your timeline this weekend. The third article is always tough because I start getting less and less clever. For once in my life, I'd like to squeak by on my nearly average looks and good punctuation. It worked in college. So let's avoid anything controversial and get right to the bets.
Just kidding. How about this Johnny Depp/Amber Heard stuff? What a circus. I don't know if I'm wired up to blindly side with the Captain of the Black Pearl or not...I can't quite put Depp's finger on it. Heard was in a 2011 movie called Drive Angry, also starring Nicolas Cage. I haven't seen this cinematic masterpiece, but I'm reading that Cage escapes Hell and steals Satan's gun. An odd choice of things to take, but it was 2011 and he had already stolen the Declaration of Independence seven years earlier. Wild. So let's beat the bookmakers worse than Heard and Depp trapped in the same room together.
Let's dive into my predictions, best bets, and the odds for NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 Race.

Bubba Wallace to finish better than Daniel Suarez (+120) (Bet $100 to win $120)

“Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing it again.” ~ Captain Jack Sparrow
You won't get rich betting on Bubba Wallace, but the proof is in the pudding that this guy is improving. Over the last 5 races, his green flag speed has improved from 26,19,17,11,9. This team is figuring it out. We could point out that Bubba's pit road rank is 30th, and that is true. However, we have been a bit blinded by Suarez's teammate, Ross Chastain's success on pit road (4th overall), while Suarez has slipped from elite to 27th.
Bubba was turning top-5 lap times during the closing laps of the All-Star race last week, which was very impressive. We think that, like Kansas, the Toyotas will be a dominant force.
The Coca-Cola 600 is an endurance battle, and Bubba will outdrive Suarez during this marathon. Let's grab the plus money, and not think twice about it.
Christopher Bell to finish better than Kevin Harvick (-120) (Bet $120 to win $100)

Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.” ~ Captain Jack Sparrow
Sometimes the treasure is a Toyota matched up against an over-the-hill Ford driver. First things first, we're looking at potentially 10+ four-tire pit stops on Sunday night. Christopher Bell's team is ranked 11th on pit road and is matched up against Kevin Harvick's 15th ranked crew.
Bell slightly ranks ahead of Harvick in overall 2022 green flag speed, but the disparity has become greater over the past few weeks. He has improved from 28th to 12,8,4 over the last four weeks while Harvick has remained steadily unimpressive at 13,8,14,16. This is the classic case of two teams heading in the opposite directions.

Ross Chastain has been brutally fast on every type of track configuration this year. Take into account that he got additional track time on Friday night en route to winning the Truck Series race, and you've got a great number on an elite driver.
Christopher Bell has been steadily improving over the last month and looks like he is poised to punch his ticket into the playoffs.
Let's sprinkle these moneylines and hope for a big hit.
