ANALYSIS

NASCAR Predictions: Back Tyler Reddick, Sam Mayer, and Riley Herbst at the Tennessee Lottery 250

Any self-respecting gambler knows that the truck series is just the beginning for the weekend race crowd. Saturday afternoon will see the Xfinity Series take center stage at 3:30 pm est. The truck race hasn't finished as of publication, but I'm sure we're all celebrating a great result already.

Tyler Reddick to finish inside the Top-5 (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)

It is supposed to be HOT this weekend in Nashville. Like boiling hot. This won't affect us one bit, since we'll be in front of the television rooting these wagers home. However, we need to take into account that a Nashville sun pounding a concrete speedway opens the door for an under-the-radar play.

With the track getting cooked, we expect a lot of tire rubber to be laid down, moving the preferred racing groove up the track. When the line moves up, Tyler Reddick gets better. This is a no brainer. Reddick is world-class at running the high lane in the Cup Series, and will school these Xfinity youngsters on Sunday. He will be running in the same car that he won at Texas. The #48 Big Machine has serious speed when driven by Red Bird Reddick.

Sam Mayer to finish inside the Top-5 (+110) (Bet $100 to win $110)

Mayer has been fantastic during the last two months of this season. He has finished in the top-5 in seven of the last nine races. Most recently, he was scored in 38th place during the monsoon on the Portland road course. It's a bad data point that we are completely disregarding. The Mayer machine churns out top-5's this year, and there is no reason to stop going back to the well. He has had top-10 green flag speed in 10 out of the 13 races in 2022. There is no doubt that Mayer will be equipped with a fast enough car to cash the ticket, and that is more than half the battle.

Riley Herbst to finish better than Austin Hill (+115) (Bet $100 to win $115)

This is a pretty tight matchup. Looking at Dover, which is the concrete comparable track, Hill finished 14th, while Herbst edged him out in 9th. On the flat comparable tracks, Herbst beat Hill at Richmond (5th vs. 18th) and losing at Phoenix (38th vs. 17th). While not scoring the victory against Hill at Phoenix, Herbst put up a nearly identical driver rating even though he finished 21 spots behind due to an accident. Let's grab the plus money in a matchup where we also have the edge!
