NASCAR: Southern 500 Prediction

Welcome to the NASCAR playoffs.

Look, we all know the NFL kicks off next week. We've already wet our whistle with the return of college football. There is nothing that compares to betting NASCAR races on the weekends. Literally nothing. You haven't lived until you're sweating out a longshot outright winner leading a race with 12 to go.

NASCAR affords you the opportunity to bet a little and win a lot in one afternoon. Ask the guy who turned $13 into nearly a million last weekend. To be fair, we had Landon Cassill 1000/1 to win finish third. I'd be lying if I told you that the @speedwaysteve2 headquarters wasn't a little nervous with just a handful of laps to go. Nascar compares to golf outrights, but without waiting four days to come to a conclusion.

If you're debating betting on NASCAR, do it. It's the ride of your life.

Let's start with this...

1.1u to win 1.0u - Christopher Bell to finish inside the Top-10 (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)

I'm pretty lucky to have a direct line to Steve's thoughts. He told me that this is by far his favorite play of the weekend, so do with that information what you will.

We wrote a couple of weeks ago about how there's a possible script where Bell can find himself in a position to win the NASCAR Championship (+1600). The journey to cashing any 16/1 bet starts with a single step...or mile...or something. That journey starts Saturday when Bell will get bonus track time around the Darlington Raceway in the Xfinity Series. We don't have a significant play on Bell in that race, but it is our hope that he runs near the front and completes all the laps in order to get the most out of the experience.

When it comes to the Cup Series at Darlington, Bell probably has fond memories of the race back in May. He finished sixth after leading three laps and turning 8 fasties. The fast laps were not free pass laps...and if you understand that inside joke, you get a gold star for being a fantastic Twitter follower.

In our 1.5 mile track dataset, Bell ranks fifth overall, only behind Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Chastain, and Larson. It's not a perfect metric by any means, as Darlington has a much more unique layout.

Bell has also been bringing rocket ships to the track nearly every Sunday since the induction of the new generation car. He's got the sixth fastest season-long green flag speed and has possessed top-10 overall speed in seven out of the last eight races. This young driver is starting to get it, and he's earned a play from us here. The top-ten market feels super soft this weekend, and we are looking to attack it. If you're looking to really cash in, Bell to win the pole (+1800, Draftkings) and outright win (+2000) will almost certainly be in play this weekend.

Let's cash this one and stay tuned for additional official article plays from your favorite speedway gang!
