Sun, December 1, 5:12 AM EST

The last day of Thanksgiving weekend and the first day of December continues at Del Mar with three graded stakes on tap, highlighted by the $300,000 Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes for 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares at one mile on the turf.

The field of 11 will go to gate for race 7 of the 10-race card with an approximate post time of 6:00 p.m. ET.

#5, Toinette, Flavien Prat, 7-2

Toinette will be making her 11th career start today and boy has she had some start (7-0-1), winning two straight and four of her last five starts. In her last, she won the Grade 2 Goldikova Stakes by 2 ¼ lengths at Santa Anita on Nov. 3. This will be her fourth start at Del Mar (1-0-1), where she finished third in the Grade 2 John C. Mabee Stakes here to winner Vasilika and today’s entrant Juliet Foxtrot (GB) on Aug. 31. She comes into this race in great form and with Flavien Prat aboard for trainer Neil Drysdale, I like her chances. The pick.

#3, Significant Form, John Velasquez, 9-2

She comes into this race in significant form, having won two straight and three of her last four races, all graded stakes, this year. In her last, she kicked clear by 2 ¾ lengths to take home the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Stakes at Belmont Park on Sept. 21. In her only start here, she finished fourth to winner Rushing Fall in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on Nov. 3, 2017. John Velasquez is back for his third straight mount for trainer Chad Brown. A lot to like and a threat. Runner-up.

#7, Got Stormy, Tyler Gaffalione, 5-2

Got Stormy has finished in the money in all seven starts this year (3-3-1) and will be making her 18th career start (7-3-3). She has had back-to-back runner-up finishes in two pretty big races: the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile (Uni (GB)) at Santa Anita on Nov. 2 and the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (El Tormenta) on Sept. 14. Prior to both of those starts, she won by 2 ½ lengths over Raging Bull (FR) in the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga on Aug. 10. Tyler Gaffalione makes her third straight start for trainer mark Casse and is another threat to take it all. Contender.

#11, Juliet Foxtrot (GB), Florent Geroux, 3-1

After three straight wins to start the year, Juliet Foxtrot (GB) has posted back-to-back runner-up finishes, including a 2 ½ length setback to Uni (GB) in the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 1 in her last. Prior to that, she finished behind Vasilika by a nose in the Grade 2 John C. Mabee Stakes here on Aug. 31. Florent Geroux gets the call once again for his third mount in his last four for trainer Brad Cox. In the mix.
