Racing expert Sweet Lou Monaco previews Wednesday's card at Gulfstream Park and provides his pick for race 1

Gulfstream Park Race 1 - PICK: #3 Halfy

After a day off, the first Wednesday in March brings us to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida for a $50,000 maiden special weight race for 3-year-old fillies over five furlongs on the turf. The field of 10 will go to gate for race 1 on the 10-race card with an approximate post time of 1:00 p.m. ET.

#3, Halfy, Javier Castellano, 7-2 - First-ever start. Her last workout was a four furlong breeze over the dirt at Palm Beach Downs on Feb. 24 with a time of 49.58. Javier Castellano is in the saddle for trainer Todd Pletcher. Always a dangerous duo. Taking a shot. The pick.

#2, Coin the Phrase, Paco Lopez, 9-2 - She has had two third-place finishes in her last three races, including a maiden special weight race in her last here on Jan. 19. This will be here second straight start here after having starts at four different tracks, so the last race is a good barometer of what she can do here. The ever-dangerous Paco Lopez is aboard for trainer James Toner. Runner-up.

#1, Notorious R B G, Tyler Gaffalione, 4-1 - Another first-time starter out of Speightstown for trainer Christophe Clement. Her last workout was a four furlong breeze (50.0) on the turf at Payson Park Training Center on Feb. 22. Tyler Gaffalione has the saddle. **Contender.

#6, Summer in the City, Luis Saez, 6-1 You guessed it, another first-time starter out of Summer Front for trainer Todd Pletcher. Her last workout was a breeze from the gate over four furlongs on the dirt at Palm Beach Downs on Feb. 23. Luis Saez has the mount. Anytime you have Saez/Pletcher teamed up, you have to consider. In the mix.**
