PICK: #2 Barley Jack (Race 9 Parx Racing)

#2, Barley Jack, Frankie Pennington, 7-5

Today marks the 30th career start (7-6-6) for Barley Jack and the fourth this year (0-0-2) as she comes into today with back-to-back third-place finishes here in a starter allowance on Jan. 21 and an allowance optional claiming race on Feb. 15. She is looking for her first win since capping a three-race win streak here in an allowance optional claiming race on Nov. 5. This will be her 13th straight start at Parx Racing. Frankie Pennington, currently second in the jockey standings, has the mount for trainer Jamie Ness. Unlucky? I think not today.

Verdict: The pick

#9, Getouttamyway, John Bisono, 3-1

She has finished in the money in her last three starts, highlighted by back-to-back wins here in a claiming race on Oct. 29 and an allowance optional claiming race on Dec. 14. In her last start, she finished third in an AOC on Jan.6 here in her first start of the year. John Bisono has the mount for trainer Daniel Velazquez.

Verdict: Runner-up

#1, Fillupcohensapiker, Angel Rodriguez, 4-1

She has finished in the money in 19 of her 29 career starts (7-8-4) and she comes into today off a 1 ½-length win as the second choice in a claiming race here on March 2. Prior to that, she had four straight fourth-place finishes here. Angel Rodriguez, third in the current jockey standings here, has the saddle for trainer Joseph Taylor.

Verdict: Contender

#4, The Circle Game, Ruben Silvera, 10-1

The Circle Game looks to snap a four-race out-of-the- money streak today and is searching for her first win since an allowance race on Aug. 3. In her last start, she finished seventh in an allowance optional claiming race here on Feb. 15. Ruben Silvera, fourth in the jockey standings, has the saddle for trainer Juan Serey.

Verdict: In the mix
