Tuesday Racing Picks: Finger Lakes

Our lead Horse Racing handicapper John DaSilva previews the racing at Finger Lakes on Tuesday, and he's got three picks which we're hoping give us some winners.

Race 6 – Pick #6 Quest for Fire (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

After finishing fifth in conditioned allowance in both starts since shipping to Finger Lakes, Quest for Fire returns to conditioned claiming ranks while stretching out to six furlongs. At Belterra in June three back, he broke slowly but finished well to be second while going shorter. He had shown better early speed prior to that and with a drop in class we may see that happen again versus these for the husband and wife team of Joel Sone and Rachel Sells.

Stretches out after being hard used throughout and finishing third this level when making seasonal debut. Chris Englehart trainee versus does his best running when racing on or close to the early pace should outlast these for the victory. Good workout out of the gate while prepping for this race will help as well. Englehart and Davila have won at 32% together in the past five years.

Race 8 - #10 Schwarbertown (8-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

Returns to face state breds after pressing the pace and tiring in seasonal debut. Schwarbertown set the pace and finished the money at this level as the favorite over this course in his last three starts prior to the layoff. Davila retains the mount and should be the controlling pace versus these.
