Wednesday Racing Picks: Saratoga
Our lead Horse Racing handicapper John DaSilva previews the racing at Saratoga on Wednesday.
Race 3 - Pick #5 Stunning Princess (2-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Danny Gargan has been having a tremendous year on both dirt and turf with horses of all ages. Stunning Princess set the pace and finished second at this distance and level when making her career debut last month. She now switches jocks to the hot riding Joel Rosario. With an entry that has Chad Brown and Bill Mott couple together, Stunning Princess should drift up and be an overlay at post time.

Race 5 – Pick #2 Go Poke the Bear (4-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Mike Maker is having the best Saratoga meet of his career, going 15 for 65 so far this year. His specialty has been turf and those runners have all been live. Go Poke the Bear returns to claiming ranks after bolting and basically was eased while going longer in allowance company. With the cut back in distance and drop in class, Go Poke the Bear should return to his best running style, which is coming off the pace, getting up in deep stretch to gain the victory.
Race 8 - #8 Amanzi Yimpilo (8-1 ML) - - Click here to bet with TVG
Wesley Ward always has plenty of horses for juvenile turf sprints that have the ability to win. He has an uncoupled entry here with Amanzi Yimpilo, Sunny Isle Beach and Stylish Rags. Amanzi and Stylish have bene working in company lately, though separately, with Stylish on the lead and Amanzi coming off the pace. Amanzi has looked better coming off pace to catch his workmate and it should set her up perfectly to get the job done here. Irad Ortiz Jr. picking up the mount is an added bonus for the horse making her stakes debut after breaking maiden in her career debut at Gulfstream in June.
