Friday Racing Picks: Remington Park
John DaSilva previews Friday's meet at Remington Park
Race 4 – Pick #5 Final Burbank (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Despite a troubled trip, Final Burbank still finished well to be second by neck while going shorter in July. He was then given a breather from racing. He now makes his first start since then and returns to route. There is enough early speed for the homebred to close into successfully and he does have experience at a route, as he finished third at the mile distance at Will Rogers Downs in April when making his career debut.
Race 6 - #1 Smart N Intuitive (10-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
After defeating state bred conditioned claimers at Prairie Meadows while going shorter, Smart N Intuitive ships to Remington Park to run in stakes for horses sired by Oklahoma stallions. Even though he is still eligible for his state bred non winner of one other than condition, Smart N Intuitive drew the rail and has the running style that makes him very dangerous here the price. Plus getting the services of Ramon Vazquez, leading jockey at the meet, helps his chances here.
Race 9 - #8 Gold Speed Go (10-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
The Danny Pish trainee returned to dirt and defeated conditioned claimers as the favorite on September 3rd. In your past performance you will see a note that says Gold Speed Go was reported to be a gelding the day after the race. Obviously, he was not gelded the next day and then would be coming back to run seven days later. Instead. he was gelded sometime between August 3rd and September 3rd. After that victory last week, he returns to turf and steps up to allowance company. The horse had shown ability on grass n the past and he had to come out of the race very well for Pish to bring him back so quickly.
