Race 4 – Pick #8 N C C Jack (5-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

At first glance there seems to be plenty of early speed. But it does not look like there is any horse that is going to be able to hold on for the victory after being hard used versus these. So, look for a horse that is going to be able take advantage of that fast pace and get up for the victory. Despite getting bumped in the stretch, N C C Jack ran well when finishing third at this level going longer when making his local return. Despite the cutback in distance, N C C Jack should show improvement from the last start get up for the victory at the pace and price.

Race 6 – Pick #1 Crossing Dixie (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

With O S U Kickoff in the race, fans will be gravitating to that one because of the major class drop. But with the trainer change, making his first start since April and making his local debut, there are enough negatives to go against him at a short price. Crossing Dixie finished second by length as the favorite in the slop at this level while going longer two back at Will Rogers Downs. He draws the rail while returning to this level while making his first start since June. He did break his maiden over this course last November while going longer. David Cabrera, the leading rider at the meet, picks up the mount and should get him to stalk the pace and get up for the victory.

Race 7 – Pick #3 Blue Azul (3-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

In handicapping races that have old, classy horses like Blue Azul, sometimes you must take a leap of faith on the connections. This is a former stake placed gelding that at one point did not run from October 2018 to March 2020. On September 5th, Blue Azul made his first start for Steve Asmussen. chasing the pace before tiring while shorter on turf. He now returns to dirt and drops in class while returning to route racing 12 days later. Stewart Elliott, Asmussen’s main Jockey at Remington, rode him in that race and retains the mount here. That turf sprint looks to be a paid work to prep for this spot. With a drop-in class to the $10,000 claiming level, he may just be set up to get the victory here and possibly be claimed as well.
