OddsChecker's lead Horse Racing analyst John DaSilva provides the best bets for Tuesday's meet at Louisiana Downs
ANALYSIS

John Da Silva previews Louisiana Down's exciting card this Tuesday.

Race 3 – Pick #2 Belmar Beauty (9/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

There looks to be a good amount of speed in the race. The quality of the speed or the ability to last is another question. So it is preferable to find a horse that can stalk the pace and take advantage of the tiring speed horses with the first move or a horse to pick up the pieces in deep stretch. Belmar Beauty should get a ground saving trip under apprentice Kody Kellenberger. She has good tactical speed and make the first move to the lead when the speed tires and goes on for the victory. Twins Plus a Dot and True Runner are horses that can come off the pace to complete the exotic with Belmar Beauty.

Race 6 – Pick #11 Afleet Moon (9/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

After an impressive maiden victory when making her career debut on July 27th, Afleet Moon took a slight break. Her first work after that race was nothing to get excited about on September 2nd. She showed a much better work on the 16th, which was her final prep for this spot. Even though she is lightly raced, she looks to be the most talented horse in the race so if she is ready, she should handle these with ease. She will be ridden by Aubrie Green, who has had a sneaky good meet, presently seventh in the standings with 29 wins.

Race 8 – Pick #5 Take Charge Chase (5-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

One thing about Karl Broberg, he knows how to read a condition book and take advantage of situations. This race is for horses that have never won four races or a horse that have not won two races in the last six months. Take Charge Chase won five races last year but is only 1 for 5 this year, with that victory coming last out at Evangeline Downs in a non winner of a race in 2020 for $5,000. He ships the horse to Louisiana Downs, where he is 3 for 3 lifetime and finds a race he is perfect for while remaining at the same claiming price. Broberg is still three wins behind Steve Asmussen for the training title with two days left in the meet, so this is his last ditch attempt to overtake the Hall of Famer.
