Racing analyst John DaSilva previews Wednesday's card at Mountaineer
ANALYSIS

John DaSilva guides us through his Wednesday plays at Mountaineer

Race 2 – Pick #2 Mauk’s Tuff (9/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

After making a strong middle move to gain the lead before tiring to finish second in local return, Mauk’s Tuff cuts back in distance while getting a positive jockey switch to leading jockey Luis Colon. She has not finish worse than second in three career turf starts locally. If race gets switched to the main track, she is just as adept on the dirt that has moisture in it.

Race 4 – Pick #8 Leopoldo (7/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

There seems to be a lack of pace setters in the race, which make the connections of Leopoldo very happy. Last time out Leopoldo returned to route and wired the field for the second time in three starts while making his local debut. He has finished in the money in six of his last seven starts. He will be sent to the front and it will be tough for anyone to run with him or run him down for the victory.

Race 7 – Pick #6 Rejuvenate (9/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG

After losing ground in the stretch in his last three starts, Rejuvenate gets a positive jockey switch to Wilkin Ortiz. The Tina Larue trainee might be better off racing a bit off the pace than his recent starts. Even though he hasn’t won at this distance, he is four for six in the money. Plus he is for 5 for 7 in the money with a couple of victories on an off track.
