TVG racing expert Emily Shields is back this week with picks for Saturday's races at Woodbine
ANALYSIS

The stellar card at Pimlico for the 145th running of the Preakness Stakes includes 12 straight stakes races, topped by the $1 million Preakness Stakes itself. Six of the races are graded stakes for Thoroughbreds, with the $100,000 UAE President Cup (G1) for Arabians going as Race 12. Watch and wager on the 2020 Preakness with TVG.

Race 2 - $150,000 Gallorette Stakes (G3) - Click here to bet with TVG

#1 Juliet Foxtrot (7-5) is the top choice after running against much tougher her last few starts. She gets class relief here and should fire in a big way for Brad Cox and Florent Geroux. #8 Varenka (5-1) would be a nice price; the Graham Motion runner puts blinkers on and was a Grade 2 heroine last year.

Race 5 - $150,000 Miss Preakness Stakes (G3) - Click here to bet with TVG

#3 Fly On Angel (8-1) is coming in off two straight wins including the Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks. She has been top two in six of nine and will be a price. #5 Mundaye Call (7-5) was even money last out at Churchill Downs when she finished fourth after three big wins.

Race 6 - $250,000 Dinner Party Stakes (G2) - Click here to bet with TVG

#7 Factor This (even) isn’t much of a price but should win this race; the Brad Cox-traniee has won four of his last five, all major stakes races, and just missed last out.

Race 7 - $200,000 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash (G3) - Click here to bet with TVG

#1 Admiral Lynch (7-2) is coming off a huge win sprinting at Saratoga and was third beaten a neck over this trip last year with a rough start. Longshot Play: #6 Midtowncharlybrown (15-1) was a stakes winner at Parx last out, and has won 11 of 24 lifetime; he can light up the exotics at a nice price.

Race 10 - $250,000 Black Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) - Click here to bet with TVG

Best Bet of the Day: #5 Bonny South (7-5) is a nice sort of filly, a Grade 2 winner with wins in half of her six starts. She ran into Swiss Skydiver last out, but the cut back in distance should help her. #11 Perfect Alibi (10-1) is drawn outside and puts blinkers on for this; the Mark Casse-trainee was a star juvenile but has been in tough since her return, tackling the best of her division and gets some relief here.

Race 11 - $1 million Preakness Stakes (G1) - Click here to bet with TVG

#9 Authentic (9-5) is the Kentucky Derby winner and towers over this field. He has won five of six starts, has earned $2.8 million, and figures to control this race on the front end and run the field off their feet. His biggest challenge could come from his stablemate #5 Thousand Words (6-1), who puts blinkers on after acting up in the Kentucky Derby paddock, and was one of the top rated juveniles in the country. #3 Art Collector (5-2) has crossed the finish line first in his last five starts, all by open lengths, but missed the Derby due to a minor injury and needs to prove he is back to his best. Longshot Play: #10 Pneumatic (20-1) is three for five lifetime, and is coming off a nice stakes win after knocking heads with Tiz the Law two back.
