Monday Racing Picks: Mountaineer

Race 1 – Pick #8 Panama Prince – (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Sometimes trainers can find a great spot for a horse by looking closely at the conditions. This race is supposed to be for horses that have never won three races in their career. But there is a clause in the conditions that expand it to other horses. It says “West Virginia bred races not considered for eligibility.” Panama Prince ran in allowance company in first start of the year. He now returns to level he was competitive at last year. His last start at this level on turf, he ran second. Having the winning experience and ability to compete at this level should be enough to get him to the winners circle.
Race 2 – Pick #7 Unbridledselection (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
After closing well to finish second by a neck going longer when returning to turf, Unbridledselection cuts back to turf sprint. In his only career start in a turf sprint, he set the pace, dropped back and then came on again to finish second by a nose at this distance and level. There should be enough early speed in race to take advantage of here and get up in time for the maiden victory.
Race 9 – Pick #7 Baby Gordita (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
With the scratch of morning line favorite Ready to Play, the complexion of the race has changed. New morning line favorite Linda’s Music had finished second in four consecutive races before finishing sixth last out. With a 1 for 22 record, there isn’t much confidence backing Linda’s Music. Going to try and beat her with Baby Gordita. In her local debut for a new barn she chased the pace before tiring in the slop. With a fast track, she should get brave and hold on for the victory versus these.
