It's Tuesday and John DaSilva is back at Presque Isle and on the hunt for more winners.
Race 2 – Pick #8 Wine Trail (4-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
Sometimes knowing the rules can lead us to interpreting the trainer intention with their horse. Ron Potts has a PA bred first time starter by Commissioner named Wine Trail. She is starting for the $20,000 maiden claiming tag and the purse is $20,000. The horse is training at Delaware for her career debut. She is shipping a few hours for this race. She could have entered at Parx for maiden claiming $20,000 and run for the waiver (not be claimed) for being a PA bred in a maiden claiming $20,000 race. But she would also have to carry an additional 3 pounds and wouldn’t be eligible for any PA bonuses in that race. Plus she could be facing tough state breds also running for the waiver. So Potts finds a probably soft spot and be eligible for all the bonuses and run at equal weight with the competition.
Race 4 – Pick #5 Flirty (4-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
After making a middle move to reach contention before flattening out to be third in both starts since returning to Presque Isle, Flirty switches jocks in hopes for a well timed move for the lead and hold on for the victory. The horse was 2 for 3 over this course prior to the last two races and in both victories, the jockey made one well timed move and drew off for the victory. There should be enough speed in the race for her to take advantage of.
Race 7 – Pick #5 Classy Halo (6-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
After a gate to wire victory at this distance two back, Classy Halo stalked the pace and basically ran evenly to finish third. With the amount of early speed in this race, Addiel Ayala should give him a patient ride and take over the lead the stretch while then going on for the victory.
