Race 8 – Pick #9 Financial One (7/2 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
With Chad Brown, it is great to have so many horses that you need multiple divisions at multiple tracks. Even though he is based in New York, Chad also has divisions in New Jersey and Kentucky. Financial One has been based in Kentucky all summer prepping for her career debut. But just because she is in Kentucky, that does not mean she is an afterthought or is not talented enough to be in New York. She is the half-sister to Eclipse Award winner Close Hatches. She made her career debut at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks day. She broke slowly but the recovered quickly and finished well to be fourth. Now she makes her route debut and obviously her breeding suggests she can handle it. She comes in this spot with a bullet work and Javier Castellano retains the mount.
Race 9 – Pick #1A English Bee (4-1 ML) - Click here to bet with TVG
After completing in stakes in his last three starts, English Bee gets class relief and drops to this allowance race. Despite a troubled start, the Graham Motion trainee recovered well to finish fourth in the Tapit Stakes at Kentucky Downs last out. He was beaten a length in the Grade 1 Makers Mark Stakes over this course in his previous start. He will be ridden for the first time by Florent Geroux and they should get up in time for the victory versus these.
Race 10 – Pick #1 It Was Meant to Be (5-1 ML)  - Click here to bet with TVG
While Mike Maker has a reputation as an excellent turf trainer, he is more than capable with winning on dirt. It Was Meant to Be made her career debut at Kentucky Downs and because of the unique configuration of the racetrack, that would not be something any juvenile would be comfortable doing. She broke slowly from the gate and tired. She has worked steadily since then and now makes her dirt debut. She drew the rail and Florent Geroux picks up the mount.
