Hertha have been nothing short of brilliant since the league’s resumption, and full credit has to go to Bruno Labbadia in transforming this talented squad.
Seven points in three games, scoring nine goals and drawing with a strong Leipzig outfit, is an impressive return, and I’m backing them to beat Augsburg on Saturday.
The visitors have kept back-to-back clean sheets and aren’t a side who look in imminent relegation danger (not necessarily because they have enough points, but because there are worse sides underneath them), but they still look a little limited, which will be exploited by this Hertha outfit.
Augsburg were indebted to Andi Luthe for their point against bottom side Paderborn, and you’d feel a more clinical outfit, such as Labbadia’s Hertha, will take advantage of them.
Next up, I have Wolfsburg beating Eintracht Frankfurt at home.
Frankfurt are finding themselves in a titanic relegation battle, and just one point in their last three games, conceding 11 goals, is a cause for serious concern for Adi Hutter.
As for Wolfsburg, they’ve won two of their last three games, with their solitary post-lockdown defeat against Dortmund was hardly a disgrace.
The appalling defensive discipline that has been shown by Frankfurt in recent weeks won’t be lost on the Wolfsburg players, and considering the hosts have a defensive record rivalling some of the very best sides in the league (just 34 concessions is the third-best record in the division), they’ll fancy weathering any Frankfurt storm while exploiting their opponents’ leaky defence.

Finally, I like the look of Hoffenheim’s price to beat Mainz.
Hoffenheim, who have been treading water for a while now, looked like they turned a real corner as they put in a brilliant display to beat Koln 3-1 on Wednesday, and they’ll fancy a go at a rudderless Mainz side on Saturday.
The huge difficulty some teams have found playing at home will certainly peak Hoffenheim’s interest, who will feel their momentum will carry over into their clash with the Achim Beierlorzer’s strugglers.
Mainz failed to capitalise on Union Berlin’s red card on Wednesday—squandering the opportunity of securing a crucial three points—and considering they have the worst defence in the league (61 concessions in 28), you have to favor the visitors at the price they’re quoted.
