Serie A and La Liga Weekend Parlay: Trusting Atletico Madrid

Serie A and La Liga Weekend Parlay at +241

We are ready to cash some more parlays just before the international break so let’s start our betting weekend with a 2-leg parlay from Serie A and La Liga.

Juventus vs. Fiorentina (Serie A Round 12) - Saturday, November 6, 1:00 p.m. ET

Juventus vs. Fiorentina Odds

Juventus dropped to ninth in Serie A as Verona pulled off the upset last weekend, beating them 2-1 with Giovanni Simeone scoring a brace in 10 minutes. Now, Juventus are trailing leaders Napoli by 16 points, and they are closer to bottom-placed Cagliari than to the 1st spot in the standings. Juventus lack of creativity is agonizing. It’s like they forgot to play the game and are relying too much on their star striker Paulo Dybala for any source of attacking firepower.

Massimiliano Allegri is under huge pressure. Another bad result and he will hit the road. Juventus were wrong to assume that Allegri is the right choice as a manager given the circumstances. Yes, he won many trophies in the past with the Old Lady struggles under Allegri’s guidance, and if we watch closely, some players don’t even understand their role. Personally, I don’t think he will make it till Christmas despite Juventus’ great run of form in the Champions League.

They already qualified in the knock-out stages after just four rounds, so now their main objective is to close the gap on the top spots. This weekend AC Milan will face Inter, and Napoli will host Verona, so Juventus have a good chance to close the gap, but Fiorentina are no pushovers. Vincenzo Italiano has brought hope that La Viola can break into Serie A’s elite and play in Europe next season.

But Serie A is very strong this term. There are a lot of strong teams that will fight for the top seven spots, which will provide a European position. However, they also have some internal issues with their star striker Dusan Vlahovic being linked with Tottenham with Antonio Conte trying to sign him in the winter transfer window. Luckily, Vlahovic has a professional attitude, and despite not wanting to extend his contract with La Viola, he is giving his best in every single match.

The visitors won three of their six away games losing the previous two without finding the back of the net. Juventus conceded 15 goals in 11 games this season, keeping just two clean sheets in the process. Last season Fiorentina managed to win four points in two games against Juventus, beating them 3-0 on the road. We don’t expect the same outcome because Juventus are desperate for a win, but we do expect Fiorentina to find the back of the net, so for our 1st pick of this 2-team parlay, we are going with both teams to score.

1st Parlay Pick: Both teams to score (-133)

Valencia vs. Atletico Madrid (La Liga Round 13) - Sunday, November 7, 10:15 a.m ET

Valencia vs. Atletico Madrid Odds

The Spanish reigning champs lost their Champions League doubleheader against Liverpool, sitting 3rd in the UCL Group B standings, and they are struggling to find their form also in La Liga. Last season they conceded 25 goals during the entire season (38 games), dropping points in just 12 games. This season they are sitting 4th with 22 points earned in 11 games. They already conceded 10 goals, dropping points in 5 matches. That’s a lot for such an organized team coached by Diego Simeone, the master of defensive football.

There’s no danger yet because they are just 3 points behind leaders Real Sociedad, and they have a game in hand on them, but we were expecting them to dominate the season once again, given Barcelona’s and Real Madrid’s issues.

On the other side, Valencia has huge ups and downs. They won just 1 of their previous 8 La Liga games, losing 4 in the process. On top of that, their record against Atletico Madrid is bad. They are winless in their last 12 head-to-heads, losing 8 games in the process, including the doubleheader from last season.

They are also missing two of their key strikers, Maximiliano Gomez and Denis Cheryshev, and defender Toni Lato. Despite the 2-0 win against Villarreal, we don’t expect them to make it two in a row and beat Atletico. The difference in quality between the two squads will be the key to this match.

2nd Parlay Pick: Atletico Madrid to win (-105)

2-Leg Parlay Picks (+241)

  • Juventus vs. Fiorentina - Both Teams to Score (-133)
  • Valencia vs. Atletico Madrid - Atletico Madrid ML (-105)
