Bundesliga and Serie A Weekend Parlay: Banking on Goals in Italy
Lazio travels to play Sassuolo on Sunday in what should be a high-scoring affair while Bundesliga's bottom-placed Greuther Furth hosts in-form Union Berlin.
Serie A and Bundesliga Weekend Parlay at (+257)
Sassuolo vs. Lazio (Serie A Round 17) - Sunday, December 12 - 12:00 p.m. ET
Last week, we cashed our Serie A, and Bundesliga parlay at +244. Inter beat AS Roma on the road, and Bayern Munich secured their leading position with a controversial win against Dortmund. Debatable or not, a win is a win, and we will do our best to win another combined parlay this weekend with two great value bets.
Last week, the best Twitter comment: "Sassuolo are Serie A's, Robin Hood." They steal points from the rich and give to the poor. This is exactly what they are doing. They beat AC Milan and Juventus and kept Napoli to a 2-2 draw, but they lost to Empoli and dropped points to Spezia and Cagliari. Hopefully, they will stop that behavior because they are better than that.
If they follow this trend, they should beat Lazio and Fiorentina and drop points against Bologna and Genoa (the next four on their season schedule). However, we should enjoy their games because they are one of the most entertaining teams in Serie A, and they have excellent attacking firepower. Let's not forget that last week they were two goals down in the 65th minute of the game against Spezia and managed to return home with one point.
Domenico Berardi, Gianluca Scamacca and Giacomo Raspadori are forming an amazing attacking trio for Sassuolo and we expect them to deliver once again against Lazio. On the other side, the visitors have two different faces, good at home and bad on the road. They've won just two in eight away games, but at least they are scoring. As we said before, Sassuolo is struggling to keep clean sheets, and when you have Ciro Immobile playing against you, you should always expect to allow goals.
With that said, we are going with goals, the "Alex Classic." This means both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match.
- 1st Pick of the Parlay: Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 goals (-120) - ALEX CLASSIC
Greuther Furth vs. Union Berlin (Bundesliga Round 15) - Sunday, December 12 - 9:30 a.m. ET
Greuther Furth vs. Union Berlin Odds
Our favorite fade of the season, Greuther Furth, is done and dusted. They are sitting dead last in the domestic league with one point earned in 14 rounds, and they conceded 46 goals in the process, averaging 3.28 goals per game. They conceded six from Hoffenheim and seven from Leverkusen in the last two rounds.
On the other side, Union Berlin shows why they finished 7th last year in the German top-flight league. They are now sitting 6th with 23 points, and yes, they are way better at home than on the road. Away from home, they won just one in six games, while at home, they are third in the standing after Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Still, Union is three classes above Greuther Furth. When you have such an organized team at the back and players like Taiwo Awoniyi and Max Kruse leading the attacking line, you are set to play against any opponent. Awoniyi is enjoying a superb season with Union. He scored nine goals this term, being the team's leading scorer, and has put his side 1-0 up five times already this season, more often than any other player in the league. Crazy numbers. Not only can you take him as an "anytime goalscorer," but you can push it and take him as "first scorer."
Sometimes we don't understand how the odds compilers are thinking or how they come up with these prices. Once again, Greuther Furth has 13 defeats and 1 draw in 14 games. This will eventually come to an end, but the team looks awful, so why back them? We're going with the logical bet here and taking Union to win over 1.5 goals in the match for our 2nd pick of the parlay.
- 2nd Pick of the Parlay: Union Berlin to Win & Over 1.5 goals (-105)
Bundesliga and Serie A 2-Leg Parlay Picks (+257)
- Sassuolo vs. Lazio - ALEX CLASSIC: BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals (-120)
- Greuther Furth vs. Union Berlin - Union Berlin to Win & Over 1.5 Goals (-105)
