English Carabao Cup Parlay: Tottenham Has No Chance to Slow Chelsea's Firepower

Carabao Cup Semifinals Parlay at +218

Spurs’ best shot this season is to win the EFL Cup, but they lost the first leg 2-0 on the road to Chelsea and they need a miracle to make it to the finals. The postponed League Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Arsenal will go ahead as rescheduled with the first leg this Thursday at Anfield. Let’s kick off the year in style with another winning parlay.

Value on the Visitors

Tottenham vs Chelsea Odds

Signing Antonio Conte as Tottenham's manager was the club's best decision of the season. The Italian master has done a great job in re-establishing a winning mentality, just like he did when coaching Serie A's reigning champs, Inter Milan. He also has done an amazing job motivating the team's world-class duo, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

Life under Nuno Espirito Santo, who, by the way, wasn't even close to being Tottenham's first choice last summer, has opened big wounds. Mourinho's time at Tottenham was a disaster, but the goal-scoring partnership between Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son was top-notch. Under Nuno, Son has struggled to find the joy of playing while Kane was nowhere to be found. Furthermore, Tottenham's lack of controlling the ball in the opposition third stopped him from getting the time required to get back into the box after making that move. It was a mess, and it's over. Antonio "The Count" is here to make things right and improve the team.

Tottenham enjoyed a superb festive period being unbeaten in December's EPL crazy schedule, winning four of their six matches, sitting sixth in the standings with 33 points, and having two games in hand on fourth-placed Arsenal. They recently defeated Morecambe 3-1 to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup, with Kane, Lucas Moura, and Harry Winks contributing on the scoresheet.

Against Chelsea, they lost two times this season, and they failed to find the back of the net. In September 2021, under Nuno Espirito Santo, Chelsea destroyed them, beating them 3-0 on the road. Last week in the reverse leg, the Blues dominated the entire match again 2-0. They were very lucky to allow just two goals because Chelsea missed some sitters having 19 goal attempts and six shots on target.

Chelsea's squad is so good and so balanced that Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek came off the bench in the second half. Chelsea is unbeaten against Tottenham in their previous ten mutual encounters across all competitions, and we don't expect them to start losing now. Thomas Tuchel knows how important it is to return to the Premier League action next weekend high on confidence. We don't expect the visitors to lose this one, so we are going for a free-hit for our first pick of the parlay.

1st Pick of the Parlay: Chelsea +0 (Draw No Bet) (-118)

Liverpool vs. Arsenal - Thursday, January 13 - 2:45 pm ET

Goal-Fest

Liverpool vs. Arsenal Odds

Jurgen Klopp must work with a thin squad on Thursday against Arsenal. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita are away, playing for their countries in the Africa Cup of Nations, while Thiago Alcantara and Trent Alexander-Arnold tested positive for covid. The Reds have suffered a difficult period in their domestic campaign, like so many EPL clubs, with numerous players having to isolate after testing positive for the virus. You never know who's in and who's out, so the best thing to do is to check the lineups one hour before the game before placing your bets. The Reds should have Alisson Becker back from his covid infection while Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota are expected to return to the starting XI.

On the other side, Arsenal should suffer the most out of the quartet fighting for a top-four finish with Mohamed Elneny (Egypt), Thomas Partey (Ghana), Nicolas Pepe all having AFCON commitments. The visitors enter this clash on the back of a shocking 1-0 defeat to Nottingham in the FA Cup, and they will try to redeem themselves with a win against Liverpool.

Granit Xhaka and Folarin Balogun are expected to be left out after testing positive, while Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu are doubtful. Liverpool should win the first leg, so we will sprinkle a small stake on Liverpool ML at +100, but our main pick for this parlay is Over 2.5 goals.

2nd Pick of the Parlay: Over 2.5 Goals (-139)

English League Cup Parlay Picks
