This is really the tale of two completely different teams when it comes to the 2022 Women's EURO Final. On the one side, we have Germany, 8x European champions and 2x World Cup champs.
On the other side is England, which has never won a European championship or a World Cup.
Considered the birthplace of soccer (or football) England's women's team has had shockingly little success on a national level. However, I think this is the year where that comes to an end and Football finally comes home.
I wasn't convinced that England was a team of destiny until their Semifinal win over Sweden. Sweden, the second-ranked team in the world, was completely outclassed by England en route to a 4-0 win by The Lionesses.
England's Beth Mead has been the best player in the entire tournament. She provides them with creativity and playmaking up front and finishes at an amazing clip. She and Germany's Alexandra Popp are fighting for the tournament's top scorer, but I like Mead to find the back of the net on Sunday.
England's Alessia Russo has also been fantastic during the 2022 EUROs, scoring four goals to this point and coming in as the tournament's third-leading scorer.
Germany's defense has been fantastic, it allowed its first goal in the semifinals to France in a 2-1 win, but I truly think that England is a team of destiny and will come away with it's first big trophy on Sunday.
