RB Leipzig vs. Liverpool Expert Picks

1**u – Draw/Liverpool (HT/FT) @ +505 (Click To Bet)**

Liverpool have lost three straight games, which now makes it five defeats in just seven games. That is something we never expected to see from Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Let's have it straight though, there is a lot of hyperbole, in addition to glee from opposing fans, which is making us feel like things are considerably worse than they are. Alisson has been written off by Twitter, but the truth is that he's still a world class keeper, he's just being held back by a makeshift backline, which has changed reguarly. He needs consistency.

We can't downplay the defensive injuries here. Missing Virgil van Dijk is huge, as is Joe Gomez and Joel Matip who are both upgrades over Henderson and Fabinho. Fabinho and Henderson aren't doing a terrible job at CB but it takes them out of midfield, which is causing huge issues, with Thiago, Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones not managing to shield them enough.

That weakness in midfield has also made Thiago look worse than he is. He's one of the world's best midfielders and has already been labelled a flop. I'd expect him to improve when he has Fabinho alongside him and Van Dijk behind him, but in the meantime he'll look like Liverpool's Juan Sebastian Veron, a talented player in the wrong team. It's worth remembering how Veron played in Europe though, where he was one of Man Utd's best players. I think we could see that against RB Leipzig, a team he has met plenty of times during his spell at Bayern Munich.

Leipzig are well organized and good in transition, but they're not really at home here, with the game being played in Hungary, which removes any advantage that they might have had. It's also just been announced that Dayot Upamecano will be moving to Bayern Munich in the summer, with his head now in Bavaria, could he struggle? There are questions that need answering and I'm backing Liverpool to secure the win that they, and Jurgen Klopp, really need.

Furthermore I'll take the game to be tied at halftime before a late Liverpool winner. Liverpool will need to keep the game tight, and allow themselves to be more expansive as the game goes on until they get the lead. Let's fade the noise and put trust in Liverpool's attack to get the job done. The odds of +505 are simply too big and I have to get involved at that price.
