Last season Bayern Munich looked unstoppable as they stormed the knockout stages and walked their way to a Champions League title when the season restarted. This season they're still winning but don't look quite as dominant as we saw previously.
Munich sit two points clear of RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. With Leipzig getting torn apart by Liverpool last week, does that give an indication of where Bayern are? Not really, but their relative struggles, as much as you can struggle when leading the league, show that this isn't vintage Bayern.
Bayern will be without Benjamin Pavard, Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry but still have a great pool of talent to choose from. They should win this but Lazio are not going to be beaten easily.
Lazio sit 5th in the Serie A table, in what has been a very balanced season in Italy, with Juventus faltering and the Milan clubs leading the way. Despite only sitting in 5th, it's worth noting that Lazio have won 7 of their past 8 in the league and are a team on the rise.
I see Tuesday's game starting slowly with the Rome team managing to keep Bayern out, at least in the short term, before ultimately conceeding. Bayern are -140 for the win and I want better value than that. I considered Under 2.5 goals and a Bayern win, but for me it looked like the best value was to bet on scores being tied at halftime, with the Germans winning come full-time.
