Champions League Parlay: Looking For a Chelsea Win and an Over

The top European teams are back in action this week with the 4th round of the Champions League fixtures, and we are ready to cash with some midweek parlay bets.

Malmo vs. Chelsea - Tuesday, November 2 @ 1:45 PM ET

Malmo vs. Chelsea odds

Chelsea are flying high in both Premier League and Champions League. They beat Newcastle at the weekend with a second half brace from right-back Reece James and a penalty from midfielder Jorginho who’s one of the favorites to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or. They maximized the gap at the top of the table with both Liverpool and Man City dropping points against Brighton and Crystal Palace respectively.

They also have the best defense in the Premier League with just three goals conceded in 10 games and surprisingly Reece James is their top striker with four goals netted this season. It looks like the lack of goals from their strikers doesn’t affect them. They are clicking well as a team; they attack together, and they defend together.

Thomas Tuchel loves having defenders to score goals, strikers to help at the back, that’s why despite being without Romelu Lukaku or Timo Werner, Chelsea are winning games and keeping clean sheets. Since losing two games in a row in Premier League to Man City and UCL to Juventus, Chelsea won 6 games across all competitions keeping 4 clean sheets in the process.

In the reverse fixture they destroyed Malmo beating them 4-0 courtesy of goals from Andreas Christensen and German, Kai Havertz and Jorginho. Chelsea will still be without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, but Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Christian Pulisic may get to feature on Tuesday against Malmo. Even a slightly depleted Chelsea squad should have enough to comfortably beat Malmo.

The hosts have zero points from their opening three UCL fixtures. More than that they failed to find the back of the net conceding 11 goals in the process. Together with RB Leipzig they have the worst defense in the UCL group stage, but at least the German team scored 6. We don’t expect them to find the back of the net against Chelsea, but we will take a safer approach and play Chelsea -1.75 for our 1st selection of the Tuesday’s parlay. A great single bet for this match should be Kai Havertz to be anytime goalscorer priced at -105 with Bet365.

1st Leg of the Parlay: Chelsea -1.75 @ -140 (DraftKings)

Wolfsburg vs. Salzburg - Tuesday, November 2 @ 1:45 PM ET

Wolfsburg vs. Salzburg odds

Wolfsburg are still waiting for their first Champions League win and have endured a difficult period that finished with the sacking of coach Mark van Bommel. Florian Kohfeldt, who coached Werder Bremen until May this year failing to keep them in the German top-flight league, has signed a contract until 2023 with Wolfsburg and immediately made an impact, ending an eight-game winless streak beating Leverkusen 2-0 on the road.

They are sitting dead last in their group with just 2 points earned in three games, but they still have chances to qualify further because the three teams who are fighting for the 2nd place (Sevilla, Lille and Wolfsburg) are separated by just 1 point).

After missing Wolfsburg’s last three games, star striker Wout Weghorst should be back in time for this crucial game while Joshua Guilavogui will be back from a Champions League ban. Luca Waldschmidt, Jerome Roussillon and Xaver Schlager are still out after testing positive with Covid-19.

On the other side, Salzburg are one of the most entertaining teams in Europe. Free-scoring Salzburg are a team to be backed in every single match. They are unbeaten in 21 games this season across all competitions and are leading their UCL group with 7 points earned in 3 games. Two weeks ago, they scored 3 on home soil against Wolfsburg and we expect them to have the same attacking approach and book their knock-out stage tickets with another win.

Normally we would go with a straight away win because there’s plenty of value on that bet, but Wolfsburg are enjoying that new manager bounce so it’s a bit risky to bet against them right now also having Wout Weghorst back in the team. Instead, for our 2nd pick of the parlay we are going with goals as we expect a thrilling encounter with the hosts desperate to win and Salzburg amazing on the break.

2nd Leg of the Parlay: Over 2.5 goals @ -138 (FanDuel)
