ANALYSIS

Champions League Final Best Bets: Expect Karim Benzema to Show Up for Real Madrid

Soccer is the easiest sport in the world to beat. Everyone knows that. For that reason, I wasn't even going to bet on soccer today but today feels like a big day for the sport. I looked into it and I was right. It's pretty much the Super Bowl although not quite as big as the actual Super Bowl. They call it the Champions League Final. We're talking Liverpool against Real Madrid for the whole thing. All of it. The winner is the champion of the Champions League which makes them the ultimate champion.

Obviously, we need a little action on this one since it's such a big game and it's on at the legit perfect time today. Right in the middle of the afternoon (3:00pm ET). Now I don't keep up with soccer but again, it's the easiest sport in the world to beat. And if we're watching it, we're definitely betting it. Lucky for us, it took me two seconds to come up with two plays for this game that have a zero percent chance of losing. Here are my prediction, best bets, and the odds for the Champions League Final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Champions League Final Best Bets

Real Madrid Team Total Over 1.5 (+155) (Bet $100 to win $155)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publication*

This one is at DraftKings. I mainly went to DraftKings because it's so much easier to find team totals there than it is at FanDuel. I don't even know if they have team totals at FanDuel. I saw an exact number of goals but not actual, real-life, team totals. It's crazy when you think about it. Still, the number and price was good enough for me so at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

Here's the thing about this bet, we shouldn't even be allowed to bet it. Who in their right minds would allow people to be Real Madrid to score at least twice for plus money? That's insane. We're talking about a team that has scored at least two goals in each of their last five Champions League games. They dropped three goals in four of those games. I don't even watch soccer and I know this is the greatest bet of all time.

Karim Benzema 2 or More Shots on Target (+165) (Bet $100 to win $155)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publication*

This one is at DraftKings because they have the better number. It's only barely better than FanDuel since they have +160 but better is better. I looked for this at BetMGM but couldn't find it. They do have some player props but most were goal scorers. I'm not into that even though this guy is probably going to score 2+ times today. He's that filthy.

If we're betting the Super Bowl of soccer then we may as well have a player prop going. That's just how Super Bowls work. If we're doing that, then why not take the best guy on the field (field is American for pitch). He may be 35 years old but he's still got it. The man has scored 49 goals in 52 games this season. That's stupid. In order to score like that, you have to shoot the ball. He's had at least two shots on goal in four of his last five Champions League games so he knows what time it is. If Real Madrid is to win today, the plan has to be to get this guy the ball. I think at least two of his shots end up on goal today.
