Having failed to break down an ambitious Maribor defense in the first leg, Sheriff will definitely not repeat the same mistakes in the second leg. Sheriff Tiraspol heads into Tuesday’s clash unbeaten in 13 fixtures across all competitions, stretching back to March’s 1-0 defeat to FC Milsami Orhei in their domestic league.

The hosts were forced to sell key players in the summer transfer window, but head coach Stjepan Tomas still possesses a number of high-profile footballers to choose from. The Moldavian outfit played just three games so far this season, all of them in the Champions League qualifiers. In the previous round, they managed to beat Zrinjski from Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0 on aggregate. The winning came in the second leg in front of their home fans.

In both away legs (Zrinjski and Maribor) they only allowed one shot on target being rock solid at the back. They were a bit unlucky last week against Maribor, failing to convert their six shots on target into goals. We expect total home domination in the second leg with Sheriff controlling the ball and solving the qualification issues from the first half.

Maribor managed to return to winning ways last weekend beating ND Gorica in their domestic league but once again, they showed their defensive frailties, allowing two goals from three shots on target. did not pick up any fresh injury concerns in league action at the weekend, but captain Martin Milec sustained a knee issue at the end of the first leg against Sheriff and will probably sit this one out.

The hosts have the experience on their side and they will play at home. On top of that, they had one week at their disposal to prepare for this clash and will surely try to take advantage of Maribor’s fatigue. The straight home win has no value as the hosts are priced at -160 on the three-way moneyline. What we will do is we will combine the winner’s market with the goals’ market as we don’t expect a high-scoring affair.

Ludogorets managed to make their life easier beating Shamrock Rovers 3-0 on home soil so Rovers will have to produce a special European performance to advance any further in the tournament. This will put unimaginable pressure on the Rovers and they will have to go on the offensive right from the first minute of the match. The Bulgarians are packed with some excellent counter-attacking players who can easily score if they find spaces.

Cyprus striker Pieros Sotiriou, who scored a brace for Ludogorets in the first leg, is widely expected to return to the starting XI after he was rested in a 2-2 draw with CSKA Sofia at the weekend. On the other side, striker Graham Burke is expected to return to the starting lineup for the hosts after coming from the bench in the 3-0 defeat in the first leg.

Dinamo Zagreb was the negative surprise of the Champions League qualifiers' first leg, being kept to a 2-2 draw by Shkupi. They immediately returned to winning ways beating Slaven Belupo 5-1 in their domestic league. This season they kept just two clean sheets in six fixtures, including two friendly games. On the other side, Shkupi is yet to start their domestic league so their only three games of the new season were played in the UCL qualifiers. In the previous round, they scored three goals on home soil and once again we expect them to find the back of the net against Zagreb so we expect another high-scoring affair.
