Champions League Predictions

Inter Milan vs. Barcelona Prediction

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is under pressure following four defeats in eight Serie A games. They’ve picked up just 12 points so far in their domestic league and they enter this clash on the back of two Serie A defeats in a row against Udinese and AS Roma.

What’s scarier is that they are conceding goals for fun. They allowed at least twice against the top teams across all competitions: AS Roma, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Lazio. On top of that, they are dealing with many injury issues mostly in the attacking line with both Romelu Lukaku and Laurtaro Martinez expected to sit this one out.

Inzaghi is under scrutiny with the club owner expecting a turnaround before the World Cup break. #InzaghiOut is trending on social media in Italy and the match against Barcelona is not at all an easy one. In fact, if Inter will be able to win point/s against the Catalan giants, it will be a huge surprise. On top of that, Marcelo Brozovic sustained an injury while on international duty for Croatia. The 29-year-old, who recently signed a contract extension tying him to Inter until 2026, could possibly miss as much as a month of action after a muscular strain.

On the other side, Barcelona took advantage of Real’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Osasuna taking the lead in their domestic league on goal difference. They are rock-solid at the back, allowing just one goal in seven La Liga fixtures and they have the best attack with 19 goals scored in the process. Robert Lewandowski is on fire as he scored his ninth goal of the domestic season last weekend against Mallorca.

Let’s not talk about a must-win yet because but it’s very important to note that Bayern Munich will surely win all six points against Plzen so the double-header between the two teams is crucial. Barcelona is looking better, they have greater pace and attacking firepower and we expect them to score at least twice on their own.

Inter vs. Barcelona Pick

  • Barcelona Team Total Over 1.5 goals (-143)

Ajax vs. Napoli Prediction

Date: October 4, 2022

Time: 3:00 pm ET

Where to Watch: Paramount+

Despite losing five of their most important players in the summer transfer window, Ajax can still score many goals and play well against the top sides in Europe. Yes, they lost to Liverpool but they scored and despite entering this clash on the back of three winless games they managed to find the back of the net in every single game of the season.

They will be without Ahmetcan Kaplan for this clash due to cruciate ligament damage. At the same time, fullback Jorge Sanchez is expected to be out following knee problems that have prevented him from featuring in the last two fixtures.

With Liverpool looking to have an easy double-header against Rangers, Ajax must at least win three points in the two games against Napoli which is very difficult given how good Napoli is right now. The Italians are leading the Serie A standings and unbeaten in eight games and they won both Champions League fixtures against Liverpool and Rangers scoring seven goals in the process.

Victor Osimhen may struggle to recover in time for the trip to Amsterdam as he battles against a muscular injury but Napoli scored at least two goals in five of the last six fixtures across all competitions. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the player to watch for Napoli. He is yet to score in the Champions League but he’s an amazing player and you should back him to at least offer an assist. We’re expecting a high-scoring affair between two attacking-minded teams.

Ajax vs. Napoli Pick

  • Over 2.5 Goals (-180)

Champions League Parlay for Tuesday (+163): (Bet $100 to Win $163)

  • Inter vs. Barcelona: Barcelona TT Over 1.5 Goals
  • Ajax vs. Napoli: Over 2.5 Goals

Alex Campean has been a soccer fan since 1990 when he watched the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. He knows everything about the top 5 European leagues, Champions League and Europa League and he is well known for his “trade-mark” “Alex Classic” bet (both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match). He’s very disciplined, follows a strict set of rules, and has great bankroll management. He’s our European soccer specialist and he's having an average of 55 units of profit in the last 7 years with his soccer picks. He’s all about positive energy, respect, and long-term profit and if you ever hear “Alex’s last-minute goal” that means he did it again winning a bet in the last minute of the game, so never lose hope.
