Euro 2020 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday June 21
For teams in Groups B and C at Euro 2020, it all comes down to this. Only one of the eight teams involved (North Macedonia) have been eliminated from the tournament heading into the final round and so there is plenty still on the line here.
In Group B, Belgium are already certain of their place in the last 16 after wins over Russia and Denmark while the Netherlands have also secured their passage from Group C with six points from six. Austria, Denmark, Finland, Russia and Ukraine, however, all have work to do to ensure their Euro 2020 campaign doesn’t end here. Here are some predictions and picks for Monday June 21 at Euro 2020.
Ukraine v Austria Prediction
Group C, Bucharest, 12pm ET
Both teams enter this match locked on three points, but Ukraine only need one point to finish second and qualify for the last 16. Austria, however, will claim second place in Group C if they claim victory, although that might represent something of an upset given what we have seen from these two sides.
Franco Foda has faced criticism for some of the decisions he has made at this tournament, but he can still make amends by guiding Austria out of Group C. David Alaba would be better deployed further up the field rather than at the heart of a back three, as was the case against North Macedonia and the Netherlands. Austria need his deliveries to get in behind.
Austria will do well to stop Ukraine from finding the back of the net. Andriy Shevchenko’s team have scored two or more goals in their last six European Championship fixtures (including qualifiers) and have demonstrated their attacking verve in the matches they have played at the tournament so far.
1.5u - Back Ukraine Over 1.5 Goals @ +340
North Macedonia v Netherlands Prediction
Group C, Amsterdam, 12pm ET
This is something of a dead rubber in that the Netherlands have already qualified for the last 16 with North Macedonia certain to finish bottom of Group C. Frank de Boer could rotate his squad to keep things fresh ahead of the latter rounds.
0.5u - Back Donyell Malen Anytime Goalscorer @ +170
Russia v Denmark Prediction
Group B, Copenhagen, 3pm ET
Russia will qualify from Group B if they beat Denmark, or if they draw and Finland fail to beat Belgium. Denmark can finish second if they beat Russia and Finland lose against Belgium, but the outcome of that scenario would depend on goals scored. Russia have kept a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 European Championship matches (including qualifiers), but Denmark showed good attacking intent against Belgium following a shift to a back three.
0.75u - Back Both Teams To Score @ +100
Finland v Belgium Prediction
Group B, Saint-Petersburg, 3pm ET
A win or draw will be enough for Finland to secure a last 16 place against a Belgium team already planning for the knockout stages. Even if Roberto Martinez rests some key figures, the Red Devils should still have enough firepower to beat a Finnish side that could find it difficult to get out from the back.
1u - Back Half Time/Full Time Draw/Belgium @ +300
