FanDuel has some great markets for their EURO 2020 Final Same Game Parlay. Graham Ruthven is here to tell us how to play it.

England vs. Italy FanDuel Same Game Parlay Picks & Odds

All things considered, Italy and England have been the best, most consistent teams at Euro 2020, and so it’s fitting that Sunday’s final will see them pitted against each other. Roberto Mancini’s side have impressed from their first outing at the tournament, when they dismantled Turkey 3-0 on opening night, while Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions have improved with almost every match they have played.

Both teams have a structure that has sustained them at Euro 2020, but they also have individual quality which could make the difference at Wembley on Sunday. Italy and England are looking to create their own legacy, but who will go down in the history books as the victor? Here is my Same Game Parlay for Italy v England in the Euro 2020 final.

Mancini has built a system that allows his Italy team to keep a sound defensive basis at the back while also maintaining a platform to attack opponents. Indeed, the Azzurri’s 4-3-3 shape gets the best out of the squad they have, with the midfield trio of Nicolo Barella, Jorginho and Marco Verratti the best-balanced central unit in the whole tournament.

England will likely attempt to control the middle of the pitch for periods through the deep-lying duo of Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice. While many fans and pundits have implored Southgate to drop one of the two to find a place for a more box-to-box midfielder, like Jordan Henderson, the England boss has remained faithful to the pair.

Leonardo Spinazolla had been a Player of the Tournament candidate for Italy until he suffered an Achilles injury in the quarter-final win over Belgium. The 26-year-old had been a key figure for the Azzurri and in his absence they are lacking a dimension down the left side. Emerson Palmieri is an able deputy, but doesn’t offer the intensity of his injured teammate.

Against Spain in the semi-final, Italy had to demonstrate patience. Spain dominated possession from start to finish, meaning Mancini’s side had to take their opportunities when they came. The dynamic of this match could be somewhat different as England aren’t as possession-hungry, even if they will see a lot of the ball.

If this contest is destined by which set of attackers are in sharper form, England have reason to feel good about their chances. Harry Kane has grown into the tournament while Raheem Sterling is currently in the form of his life. The Three Lions might have faced accusations of being too conservative at Euro 2020, but they have some bite.
