Another weekend of Major League Soccer action is upon us and as usual there’s no shortage of stories and plot lines to draw upon. Los Angeles FC host Atlanta United after their derby defeat last week, while the LA Galaxy take on the Portland Timbers at Providence Park. Here are four picks for the weekend in MLS

Los Angeles FC v Atlanta United

Banc of California Stadium, Friday July 26

As the Western Conference pace-setters, Los Angeles FC have suffered just three defeats this season, with one of them coming last weekend away to local rivals, the LA Galaxy. However, LAFC will be back in front of their own fans this weekend, with the Californians winning eight of the last nine games they have played at Banc of California Stadium. They have also scored two or more goals in of their last 13 home matches.

After a difficult start to life under Frank de Boer, Atlanta United have found their groove. They won both matches they have played in the past week, scoring seven in the process and conceding none. However, Atlanta have conceded at least two goals in each of their last four games on the road.

1u - Back Los Angeles FC To Score 2+ Goals @ -275

Toronto FC v FC Cincinnati

BMO Field, Saturday July 27

FC Cincinnati have become the whipping boys of MLS in their first season in the league. They have lost 13 of their last 16 games and have been losing at half time and full time of six of their last eight matches. Indeed, this looks like being another difficult weekend for FC Cincinnati as they travel north to BMO Field.

Toronto FC are looking to bounce back from defeat to the Houston Dynamo in their last outing. The Canadians have conceded at least two goals in eight of their last 10 home matches, so it’s not a given that they will return to winning ways this weekend. They will, however, be strong favourites against a weak opposition outfit.

1u - Back Asian Handicap Toronto FC -1 @ -208

Houston Dynamo v Seattle Sounders

BBVA Compass Stadium, Saturday July 27

The Houston Dynamo come into this game on the back of one of their best results of the season so far, with the Texans claiming a 3-1 away win over Toronto FC in their last outing. Consistency, however, has been an issue for the Dynamo this term, so can they back this up with a victory in front of their own fans?

On the flip side, the Seattle Sounders suffered defeat to rivals the Portland Timbers in their last match. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 12 of the Sounders’ last 15 away games, with over 2.5 goals scored in the Dynamo’s last six outings. This points to something of a goal-fest at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday night.

1.5u - Back Over 2.5 Total Goals @ -225

Portland Timbers v LA Galaxy

Providence Park, Saturday July 27

In the past two weeks, the Portland Timbers have claimed two exceptional results, beating LAFC in the US Open Cup followed by last week’s away win over Seattle Sounders in the Cascadia Cup. But both of those victories came away from home. This weekend sees Giovani Savarese’s side return to Providence Park.

The Timbers are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 games played in front of their own supporters. The LA Galaxy, however, are unbeaten in their last three games against Portland and come into this game on the back of a derby win over rivals Los Angeles FC which could give them the momentum to claw back some of the difference at the top of the Western Conference.

0.5u - Back LA Galaxy To Win @ +450
