New York Red Bulls vs. Inter Miami Prediction and Picks
When: October 9, 6:00 p.m. ET
Where: Red Bull Arena
Both the New York Red Bulls and Inter Miami currently find themselves in a similar situation. Indeed, there are just two points between the two sides in the Eastern Conference table, with both teams hoping to claw their way into the top seven spots and the playoffs, despite disappointing years which have raised questions about the direction of the clubs.
RBNY and Inter Miami simply can’t afford to give themselves any more work to do to make the post-season. So if there is to be a late surge to a playoff spot, it has to start here. Here is some information and tips ahead of the Major League Soccer fixture between the New York Red Bulls and Inter Miami on Saturday, October 9.
New York Red Bulls vs. Inter Miami Prediction
In the case of the New York Red Bulls, they could argue that they have already started building momentum towards the end of the regular season, with Gerhard Struber’s side currently on an unbeaten run of five matches. Moreover, recent victories over New York City FC and FC Cincinnati have certainly improved the mood around Red Bull Arena.
Not so long ago, Inter Miami looked to have turned a corner similarly after winning five from six matches over August and September. At that point, Phil Neville’s side looked like a good bet to make the playoffs despite a largely dismal season. Since then, though, the South Florida side has lost four on the bounce.
RBNY have drawn their last three MLS matches at home with under 2.5 total goals scored in the previous six league games played at Red Bull Arena. These aren’t especially good omens for the home team ahead of Saturday’s fixture, but the Red Bulls might still come out on top, considering Inter Miami has drawn a blank in each of their last two games.
Cristian Casseres will be missing for the home side due to being on international duty, while Christian Makoun is also unavailable for Inter Miami for the same reason. Fabio is also expected to be sidelined for RBNY with a calf injury, but Struber and Neville will have well-equipped squads to choose from.
