Will Liverpool's prayers be answered?

This is a strange one for Liverpool. With the Premier League trophy very much in Manchester City’s hands—who everyone expects to beat Brighton on Sunday afternoon—Liverpool’s season (domestically at least) seems to be heading towards a heartbreaking end.

Should Manchester City falter, however, and victory for Liverpool against Wolves will hand them the Premier League trophy.

I won’t focus on the City match, as that’s totally out of Liverpool’s control; instead, let’s dive into the betting for this interesting clash at Anfield.

By now, everyone knows how good Nuno’s side are against the big boys. Wolves’ counter-attacking style works perfectly against sides who have a proper go—so much so that they’ve earned more points against the top six than bottom four this campaign—which is why the result on Sunday is far from a forgone conclusion.

However, it’s no exaggeration to say that Liverpool are nigh-unbeatable at Anfield these days; they are simply too good (Barcelona found that out the hard way). Wolves will relish the challenge and I’m sure they’ll give Liverpool a game, but the cream always rises to the top, and Liverpool’s sheer class will shine through.

I backed Sadio Mane to score against Barcelona in Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino’s absence—only for Gini Wijnaldum and Divock Origi to steal the headlines—but the Senegalese forward won’t be kept quiet for long, so I’m expecting him to find the net this time around.

Unbelievably, Mane has scored in eight of Liverpool’s last nine Premier League home matches, while Wolves haven’t kept an away clean sheet in 14 matches.
