Everton vs. Leicester Picks

(1.5u) Under 2.5 Goals @ -144

Despite looking totally secure in the Champions League places for pretty much the entirety of the season, Leicester City are now in grave danger of dropping out altogether.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have only won four of their last 15 Premier League games, and with Chelsea, Manchester United and Wolves all starting to show serious form, The Foxes need to start winning, and fast.

Draws against Brighton and Watford since the restart, as well as a disappointing FA Cup defeat to Chelsea, will really concern the Leicester manager, and his side now have a very tough trip to Goodison Park to contend with.

Everton have looked pretty solid in their last two games, holding champions Liverpool to a goalless draw before beating basement boys Norwich, 1-0.

As far as tipping goes, I think -144 for under 2.5 goals is a great price.

We’ve seen under 2.5 goals in all five of the combined games featuring Leicester and Everton since the restart, and Everton’s improved defense, coupled with the plight of out-of-form Jamie Vardy, on whom Leicester have been so reliant, points toward another low-scoring affair.

For a bit of a longshot, I fancy a draw at half-time and an Everton win at full-time at +510.

As we’ve seen so often since the restart, the first half of matches in the Premier League have been dire, and I expect this to be no different - with these two sides prime candidates for such an outcome (although this tip does also give us the safety net of a score-draw at half-time as well).

All four league games these two have played over the last few weeks have been goalless at halftime. However, with Leicester’s confidence at such a low ebb, coupled with Everton’s gradual rejuvenation under Carlo Ancelotti, I do see the Toffees as the more likely candidates to win this game purely based on how both outfits have performed recently.

At this price, I think it’s well worth backing.
