Premier League Predictions: Sheffield United vs. Tottenham Odds, Picks and Prediction
Sheffield United v Tottenham Hotspur prediction
Best Bet - 2u - Under 2.5 goals @ -139
- 7 of the last 8 Sheffield United EPL games have gone under 2.5 goals
- Both of Spurs' two games since returning have gone under 2.5 goals
Whilst the majority will probaly be excited for Man City v Liverpool tonight, the real game fo the day takes place in Sheffield.
Chris Wilder's Sheffield United face up against Jose Mourinho and Spurs, with both teams in competition for a Europa League slot.
Sheffield United have been tight at the back all season, and are tied with Leicester and Man United for the second best defensive record in the league. Sadly they've found scoring hard since the Premier League resumed, and have been shut out in their past 3 league games. It feels very unlikely we see many goals today.
2u - Spurs to win @ -105
- Sheffield United have only scored 1 goal in 4 games since the restart, which was a cup game
There can be little denying that no team in the divison suffered from the pausing of the league like Sheffield United. Before the break a spot in the Europa League looked very possible and the team was playing great soccer.
They've looked abject since returning and with only a couple of injuries, to both Lundstram and O'Connell it's hard to see why. My theory is that it's due to a lack of fans, something backed up with some surprising results in the Bundesliga when that returned. The rabid fans at Bramall Lane, and on the road, really helped to give something extra to the team and intimidate the referee and opponents.
Spurs aren't a powerhouse under Mourinho but they've shown some real glimpses of quality with Giovani Lo Celso looking like a real star. That should be enough to secure the three points today and at just under even money it looks like real value.
