Manchester Utd vs Bournemouth Predictions

We can’t think of two sides whose fortunes have contrasted more since the Premier League’s restart.

Manchester United have stamped their authority on the battle to finish in the top four, and back-to-back 3-0 victories against Sheffield United and Brighton has put them in a really good place – both in the league and mentally.

As for Bournemouth, they are in serious bother. Eddie Howe’s men have lost all three of their games since returning, and the destruction they suffered on home soil last time out, against a Newcastle side who are hardly world-beaters, has re-affirmed their relegation credentials to the rest of the league.

The Cherries have a stinking run-in, and that Newcastle game was their big opportunity to get points on the board before things start getting really tricky. Now, with confidence rock bottom, they’re going to head to Old Trafford full of fear.

United have only conceded one goal in their three games (to Spurs), while Bournemouth’s only goal since returning was a last-minute consolation against Newcastle.

With this in mind, we strongly fancy Man Utd to win to nil at -143

Defensively they’ve been impressive for quite a while, and this Bournemouth side in particular are unlikely to cause too many problems.

The only result we can envisage is a very comfortable home win.

Next, we are backing Bruno Fernandes to score first at +360

Fernandes has been nothing short of a revelation for United since joining, and has scored already scored five goals in his eight appearances, which is a pretty nifty return to say the least; he’s also on penalty duty, which is another reason why I like this tip.

When facing a side as poor as Bournemouth, particularly with a defensive record as ordinary as theirs, it’s definitely worth backing Fernandes to continue his excellent form and find the net.
