Premier League Predictions: Weekend Parlay
Onto the second week of the new Premier League season and we have some picks for the weekend. Bet individually or all together in a parlay.
5 Team Parlay - $20 stake would return $3797
1u - Everton -2 @ +410
- Everton have only lost once to West Brom in their past 11 games
We're starting off the weekend's games with a huge 4/1 bet on the opening match. I feared West Brom may not be good enough for this level and after the opening game I'm even more confident that they'll be going down.
Everton on the other hand looked great. A lot of the discussion after their victory over Spurs was how bad Tottenham were but in my view a lot of that was down to Everton's brilliance. Allan and Dacoure are great additons in the middle and James Rodriguez already looks like an inspired signing and added some incredible touches of quality last weekend.
Everton could be a team to win a good wedge of cash on this season and I'm backing them to start things off well again and win by 3+ goals here.
1u - Arsenal -2 @ +390
- Arsenal have won 10 of their last 11 games against West Ham
Yes, you're reading it right, I'm backing a second team to win with a two goal handicap. Look, Arsenal are dangerous up top, that's something we all know.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has resigned with the club and there is a feel-good factor around Arsenal which is only going to make them more confident and harder to beat.
Contrast that atmosphere with the one across London and they are a world apart. West Ham are in dire trouble, there is clearly something to the speculation that people aren't happy behind the scenes and I fear for them this season.
Arsenal will romp to victory here, so take the handicap and enjoy a price that's nearly at 4/1.
1u - Under 2.5 Goals @ -118
- Both teams begun their campaigns with 1-0 losses this season
Spurs finally seem to be getting some good news with the arrival of Gareth Bale as he heads home from a rough period in Madrid. Don't get too wrapped up in the good news though because this is a team who have looked inept since Jose Mourinho took over in 2019.
Things won't change overnight and I think both sides lack the cutting edge, despite Spurs having Harry Kane, to turn this into a high scoring game. I'm expecting a 1-0 Spurs win but Under 2.5 gives us safer odds.
1u - Liverpool win @ +120
- Liverpool have only lost 3 games in their past 38 in the Premier League
Chelsea have recruited well this summer but Liverpool at over even money have to be taken. I don't think a difficult win against Leeds is enough evidence to get worried about Jurgen Klopp's men.
As I said, Chelsea have recruited incredibly well but it's going to be difficult for a manager to bed in that amount of signings very quickly, especially a manager who hasn't really proved they are at the top level yet. Just grab this price while you can.
1u - Under 2.5 Goals @ -115
- Burnley's last 4 away games have had under 2.5 goals
Sean Dyche is an incredible manager, he's managed to get the best out of this group of players for a number of years now and has proven he is adaptable at times too. Leicester started off their season well but I still worry that they've not recruited much since last year and that team did drop off horribly near the end of the season.
I really like Burnley to outperform expectations this season but I can't quite bring myself to suggest backing them today at +475, although I think that price is too long and could be a value play. Instead I'm going to suggest backing the under 2.5 goals. This side know how to defend, have had an extra week's break from playing and should be in prime condition. This seems like a no-brainer and I'm surprised it isn't a shorter price.
