Premier League Predictions: Weekend Parlay
After an international break which felt like an eternity we are back this week with an interesting slate of games as the Premier League enters Matchday 5. Here are five of my favorite plays for Saturday and Sunday's games, bet them individually or as a parlay for a bumper return.
5 Team Parlay - $50 stake would return $6400
Saturday Premier League Picks
Everton vs. Liverpool predictions - 7:30am ET
1u - Everton @ +300
- Everton have won all four Premier League games so far
I've backed Everton every week in our weekly parlay and that's not going to change now, even with the daunting task of beating the Champions, and city rivals, Liverpool. This game is 10 years to the day since Everton last beat Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby.
I've been so impressed with Carlo Ancelotti's men and think that this game is their best chance to beat Liverpool in years. At +300 it's a very large price too. If you're feeling wild then Everton 2-0, the score they won by a decade ago is +2700.
Man City vs. Arsenal predictions - 12:30pm ET
1u - Over 3.5 Goals @ +122
- Man City have scored 2+ goals in their last 12 home games in the league
- There have been over 2.5 goals in Arsenal's past 5 games in the league
This just feels like a very high scoring. Arsenal are perhaps good value for the win given that Kevin De Bruyne will be missing, but I think the safer play here is 4+ goals. Man City score for fun but we've seen that recently they've been very loose at the back, that bodes well for Arsenal who have been lethal in front of goal too.
Sunday Premier League Picks
Sheffield United vs. Fulham predictions - 7:00am ET
1u - Draw at halftime @ +110
- Sheffield United have been drawing at halftime in their past 3 games in the league
Sheffield United are the most backed team through OddsChecker this week with 83% of all bets on this game being on Chris Wilder's men. I'm not overly confident in their hopes and given such a swell of backing I think the sharp play is backing Fulham or a draw. I'm not entirely comfortable putting my money on Fulham, or suggesting you do the same, so I'll be backing the draw at halftime. I can't see this being a goalfest and I'll take a chance that the teams will be level at the half.
Crystal Palace vs. Brighton predictions - 9:00am ET
1u - Tariq Lamptey to be shown a card @ +240
- Lamptey has one yellow card this season
Tariq Lamptey has been a revelation since he arrived at Brighton from Chelsea in January and he looks like he has an incredibly bright future in the game. That said, I do feel he can be reckless and get booked easily. He can find himself out of position and given that he's likely to be tracking Eberechi Eze there is a real chance that he could take out the young Palace star. At +240 I'll take the gamble.
Leicester vs. Aston Villa predictions - 2:15pm ET
1u - Leicester @ +105
- Leicester haven't lost in their past 5 games against Aston Villa in all competitions
I can't believe that Leicester aren't odds on here. Villa have looked good at points this season, and Jack Grealish is playing at his best, but any opportunity to get Leicester at this price, against a team who'll be around the bottom of the table come April and May, has to be taken.
