Saturday Premier League Picks
1u - Aston Villa @ +125
- Villa are undefeated in their last 6 games against Brighton in all competitions
Aston Villa at over even money? You've got to be taking that. Jack Grealish has had a busy international break in which he seems to have convinced the public that he's the biggest English star since Gazza. The truth is that he's a very gifted player and has played a key role in Villa's successes over the past few years. The thing about this Aston Villa team how we view them. We keep thinking that this team are doing brilliantly given the standard of their players but there is a real chance that in a few years we'll look back at this team, much like we do Leicester City's title winners, and realise just how many good players they had, at the start of their careers. Douglas Luiz is one of the players who I most believe will soon be viewed in as a far better player than he's currently viewed. This Villa squad is good, they've recruited well and I think a win here is a formality.
1u - Tottenham @ +320
- Spurs have won by 1 goal in their last 3 Premier League games
Jose Mourinho finally looks to have his mojo back. He's looking like the Jose of old, troublesome, smart and who'll do anything to win. I've not been convinced by Man City this year and despite Pep signing a new deal this week, I do wonder if he's about to face his greatest challenge. Guardiola is the greatest coach of the modern era but he's never been at a club this long and much like Sir Alex Ferguson used to demolish and rebuild great sides, it feels like that's something Pep needs to do here. City are the better team on paper but soccer isn't played on paper and I believe that Jose Mourinho's team will get the win here.
Sunday Premier League Picks
1u - Everton @ -110
- Fulham have lost 8 of their last 10 Premier League games
Everton may have dropped off over the past month but they'll easily defeat a poor Fulham team who are devoid of real quality. Everton are better in every single aspect across the park, and they're superior in the dugout, with Carlo Ancelotti still one of the league's best managerial talents. I was very tempted to take Everton with a one goal handicap here, and if you're feeling dangerous then go for it, or do as I've done and play it safe by just backing the win.
