Saturday sees Arsenal welcoming Manchester United to the Emirates in what is the most exciting game, at least on paper, this weekend. This game always used to be a classic, but despite Man Utd's league position and Arsenal's recent upturn in results, these aren't great sides.
Both teams are good value to win, with United at +150 and Arsenal at +190, the difficulty is that you can't really be sure on either side given their lack of consistency. I'd lean toward United but not enough to suggest it here.
If you only follow soccer on social media then you'd probably think Man Utd win a penalty every single game. The reality is that there last one was 8 games ago against Aston Villa. You can get +172 on a penalty being scored in this game, but again it's just a lean, and I'd rather back Bruno Fernandes to score anytime at +185.
The key stat to look at here is recent form when the two teams have met. All of the last 4 meetings have ended with under 2.5 goals. I was tempted to back on that repeating, instead I've looked for slightly more value and backed that both teams won't score. Despite United's comical defending against Sheffield United they have generally looked quite tight at the back over the past few months and Arsenal too can be capable to strong defensive performances. With that in mind let's take +130 that both teams don't find the net.
