If you've read any of my recent picks pieces for Chelsea you'll be familiar with how impressed I've been by Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea since the German arrived in place of Frank Lampard. It's clear that they've really bought into the identity that he's trying to implement and that's paying dividends. This is a seriously talented team.
The most obvious difference since the arrival of Tuchel is the defensive stability which has developed. The team are far more cautious and pragmatic but it's undoubtedly working. I wrote midweek that Tuchel (and Diego Simeone) would be playing to not lose, rather than win, and I think that applies again here, this is a game that Chelsea won't risk losing.
It also can't be denied that Man United have an incredible away record but despite their success on the road I don't think it'll be a key decider in the result here. United did rest players on Thursday in the Europa League but Bruno Fernandes still played another game, and he is by far and away the most important man on the team. That lack of rest could make United look static and uncreative here.
I can't see Chelsea conceding here and given their caution first approach I'm backing under 1.5 goals. I'm also throwing half a unit on the correct score being 0-0. A 0-0 draw is the fourth most likely result according to the odds but in my view it's far more likely than that and is a worthwhile wager for me.
