The Cristiano Ronaldo Effect: 4 Goals in 3 Games

What CR7 means for a club like Man United? Just a few sports stars on the planet can generate this kind of global interest. Excitement over his return to the Premier League is still high, even after three games played for the Red Devils. The power of his brand is vast, and despite being relatively old for a player, he's still one of the best, a game-changer, a goalscorer.

To compete, you need a strong squad fully packed with players with world-class quality combined with popularity. That helps a club become stronger and increase its revenue. That's why Ronaldo's transfer was the best because it combines both.

He's one of the most consistent players in the world during his entire career. He shows no signs of stopping. He is very committed and always gives everything on the pitch. Of course, he's earning a lot of money, but you won't see him being as spoiled as Neymar or Mbappe. That's why from an athletic point of view, he's number one. He already scored 4 goals in three games for Man United across all competitions.

Just after two domestic games played for the Red Devils, he's just one goal behind Antonio, Salah, and Fernandes, who are leading the top scorers' chart. In a previous article, we discussed the special connection between him and his fellow countryman Bruno Fernandes. We advised a great combo in every match: Fernandes with the assist, Ronaldo with the goal. It already happened in the 2-1 defeat against Young Boy in the Champions League.

Man United played West Ham in the EFL Cup midweek action, and they are out of the competition getting beat 1-0 by the Hammers. So now they will entirely focus on having a deep run in the Champions League and, of course, fight for the Premier League title. So far, they are unbeaten, currently third in the standings, level on points with Chelsea and Liverpool. On top of that, they have the best attack in the league with 13 goals netted in 5 games, with Fernandes and CR7 combining to score 7 goals.

Aston Villa Mixed Start to Their Premier League Campaign

Dean Smith's side sits 10th in the standings with 7 points earned in five games (2 wins, 1 draw, and 2 defeats). They also got knocked out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday, but they pushed Chelsea to penalties after holding them to a 1-1 draw. Last season they finished 11th, and they will try to have a better finish this term. They have good attacking quality, with Danny Ings being joined by either Emiliano Buendia or Ollie Watkins. They will fancy their chances of contributing on the scoreboard against a Man United team who conceded in three of their last four games.

Unfortunately, their head-to-head record against the Red Devils is abysmal. The last time they won a competitive match against United was 12 years ago. Since then, the hosts have won 14 of their previous 18 mutual encounters.

Man United vs. Aston Villa Picks

United are huge favorites to win this clash, so there's no value betting on a home win as they are priced at -265 with Unibet. However, once again, we will dig deep and find some good value. Even a bet on Cristiano Ronaldo to be anytime goalscorer has no value as he's priced at -190 with Bet365.

United is a scoring machine, and they will try to solve this match from halftime. No, we're not betting them to win HT/FT, but we expect them to score in both halves as they possess great attacking firepower. You can also try a combo: over 2.5 goals in the match and Cristiano Ronaldo to score, which is priced around +150. Also, we will try another prop bet with a small stake as we expect a lot of action in Aston Villa's box.

Man United vs. Aston Villa Picks

Top Pick: Man United to score in both halves (+100)

Bonus Pick: Penalty in the game (+158)
